        The Centre for Artificial-Intelligence Nanophotonics, led by Professor and Academician Min Gu, is recruiting international Postdoctoral Fellows.

        Professor Min Gu, Foreign Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, as well as the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, has joined USST as a Full-timer since May, 2019. Professor Gu has been recognized as the international authority and pioneer of the three-dimensional (3D) optical imaging theory. He has published more than 500 papers in internationally recognized authoritative journals (including Nature, Science, Nature Photonics and Nature Communications).

        Professor Gu’s team has been committed to building a world-class Centre for Artificial-Intelligence Nanophotonics, with the goal of developing advanced photonics technologies to achieve a smarter, greener and safer future.

        We are looking to fill Postdoc positions in the Centre. These positions will involve working with a multi-disciplinary team of physicists, material scientists and industry partners. The expertise includes optical chips, all-optical deep learning, artificial Intelligence materials, supercapacitors and thin film solar cells. Salaries will be competitive at an international level. We provide a stimulating and highly collaborative research environment that is embedded in a network of local, national and international collaborations.

Qualifications:

1.    Applicants should h**e a doctoral degree in physics, material science, or similar fields. We particularly welcome applications from those with research experiences related to laser physics, holograms, super-resolution imaging, supercapacitors and photovoltaics.

2.    Qualified candidates must h**e less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience and h**e a record of peer reviewed publications in high-impact journals. 

3.    High level of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected.

4.    Candidates must h**e good written/oral communication skills in English, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

5.    Candidates must h**e strong ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
